How is Who perceived by others?
I'm curious

A dodgy flat roofed boozer on the edge of an estate that stinks of piss (hot)

Or a place of intellectuals where one would leave , feeling glad they paid a visit?

Groundhog Day. Which isn’t as terrible as it sounds because every day appeared the same but he leant something new.

WHO is the uncle who promises to take you to a WHU match and drives you there half cut before using your kids' ticket to jib in.

Who is the token ginger friend you have around so you can take the piss out of him.

Re: How is Who perceived by others?
I'd say a mixture of both.

It's very aggressive, argumentative and facile at times, but you quickly find who are the uneducated, 'attention seekers'. Along with the 'life style fantasists' and just 'plain wrong'.

That's the saloon bar. But if you venture into the lounge bar you'll find the more intellectual members, who avoid confrontation but instead, contribute well thought out posts. Pagey is an excellent example of this.

Then you have the beer garden on a hot summers Sunday afternoon and everyone is wankered and talking bollocks. Bolty comes to mind.

You've given me a brilliant idea for an action film franchise.

"Who From Uncle".

Rather than just some suave bloke going around the world, solving international espionage, terrorism and general bad shit, Uncle despatch WHOers to do the nation's dirty work.

Green Street meets Mission Impossible.

The eccentric and argumentative uncle who can’t stop banging on about Brexit, conspiracy theories, his Walter Mitty pretend lifestyle and how he waxed his balls.

Summed up succinctly by my wife yesterday with her comment....'you're not on that chat room thing again are you? What do you find interesting about it? Bunch of losers'

It's probably perceived as a haunt of fucking idiots with neither the grace nor intellect to earn admission to KUMB's hallowed cloisters. A place whose existence the official club wallahs would prefer to deny, or at least to forget, when they themselves are not sipping from the cup of its wisdom.

It is a source of virtual comfort, a place where freedom of expression is limited only by individual inhibitions. A place where friends exist only as typed letters on a screen. Yet with time those letters develop character. Some you'd like to share a drink with.

The unsanitary black sheep of the West Ham message board fraternity. I'd say it's the message board most in keeping with the ethos of the club itself.

The portacabins at the training ground. The underdog spirit. The taking the piss when the going is good. WHO is the equivalent of those things...the things that are a bit shit, but are real West Ham none the less.

It's the board that has some spirit and personality.

Re: How is Who perceived by others?
Generally broader and more interesting than most chat boards. If a little argumentative.

Colly - Yea, that's what I have also found. Probably one reason why there hasn't been a genuine new poster on here for around 10 years.

Seeing as the regulars think everyone else on here is an obnoxious cunt or an ignorant fool, it should come as no surprise that most passing visitors feel the same.

WHO is totally unique

Literally seen people offer each other out for differing opinions on classical music

Some stuff from years ago still makes you crack up

People who don't use it probably think everyone who does is a basement dwelling nerd

I was on the train coming back from an away match. Bloke in early 20s looks at my phone and goes "my dad is the only person I know who uses that site".

This is known as a site for men of a certain age.

Re: How is Who perceived by others?
Honestly the layout of the site is quite difficult to get to grips with compared to more modern sites. Also, the inability to quote other posts is simply ridiculous.

That probably puts off many would-be new posters.
